Service of Remembrance for Ashley Frearson

Service of Remembrance for Ashley Frearson

As many of you know, our beloved daughter Ashley Frearson went to be with her Lord and Savior nine days ago on Sunday, Sept 9. We miss her so.  I encourage you to watch her Service of Remembrance—you'll see the beauty of Jesus. In the last three days 3,700 people have viewed the video (mostly on Facebook).

Ashley embodied Jesus in so many ways. Some of you know her from the opening story in A Praying Life where she lost her contact while on a camping trip. She's also in Love Walked Among Us playing hockey and on that same family camping trip. You can read my reflections on her life, which I shared at the service, here

Hearing of Ashley's life and love will build your faith. I know it is a long video, so if you just want to hear family, you can focus on:

  • :11-:40 Minutes—Jill and I, followed by Ashley's five siblings—Kim, Courtney, Emily, Andrew and John.
  • 1:12-1:47 Minutes—Dave Frearson, Ashley's husband. Dave's faith in the face of losing his wife is remarkable.

Four of Ashley's friends shared as well. They all give us a sense of Ashley's love, but if you only had time to hear one, I'd listen to Judy Yoon (:57-1:03).

Your love and prayers are helping us to see Jesus in the midst of our grief, and we are so deeply grateful.

In Him,
Paul E. Miller

Update 2/20/2019: Joni Eareckson Tada shared about Ashley in a recent podcast. You can read the story or listen here
